YES! The semester is over!!! But I don’t think this blog is ether. So I have interpreted this next subject as scan two pages of your sketchbook and throw some other thing in there as well.
I’ve been listening to audio books at work lately, and the last one was The Lost World Jurassic Park. I got really into it and took a break from work and sketched this dinosaur. The thing is I didn’t capture this one in my sketchbook. So I thought I better scan, color, and give him place to live. So I guess he will live here.
I hope this gets other people just throw some inspiring sketches up here.

So this doesn't have to do with the current topic but i thought you guys might be interested in this anyways. Ever since the robot topic I've had ideas swimming in my head about a short film based around the character I made. So I modeled the robot in 3dstudio max, and I'm just testing different ways of doing this. So far my process is this: Animation of robot all in 3d> composite animations over 2d background> add extra effects in AfterEffects. Since 3d modeling is kinda difficult for me in 3dsmax I've decided that I could make better backgrounds in photoshop, so thats how i'm doing it.

So here are 2 scenes that i'm using more as tests for the process than actual final products. The first scene is the robot exiting through a crumbled hole in the wall from a factory. This scene actually has a 3d background and uses light ray effects from aftereffects. The second scene was really a test to see how he would look walking around a 2d environment. I used a shader effect similar to cell shading to make him look like he was possibly animated in flash. And the grass in the second scene was animated using aftereffects as well.

This was my first experience animating a character in 3d and it was awesome! The actual animation process is a lot easier than 2d, I just love it!

Well, I hope you all have heard that Disney bought out Marvel yesterday. I know that's kind of weird. But the dork in me can't help but think about the different combinations of characters that can come out of this mash up! I’m a HUGE fan of Marvel and Disney and there are so many possibilities. So put on your “drawing hat” and design a character\characters that these two creative companies have up there sleeve. I know you thought about it already. So go draw!

So.... don’t go and see this movie! It's horrible!! I don't even know why it didn’t go straight to the cutting room floor. After the success of UP, Disney thought they should do a similar type of movie but take it in a different direction. Well they got Bruce Willis to play the voice of the main character and Matt Groening to do the art direction. Well needless to say it sucked.

This is what I want around me to do the “not so not-so-everyday task” of devouring people whole that really deserve it. You know like those really big jerks that drive you up the wall. Okay, I have never done anything environmenty or layout-like or whatever. I've never even used the word "environmenty". So I was lost from the get-go....

...but I had fun. I wanted to conceptualize what it would look like if your own planet had a ring-- how would that look from the ground? I'm not sure if I pulled off that purpose well enough, but I like the look as a whole.

Well, I’m not sure what the rules are here, but I’ll post this anyway. It seems that at one point in the animated Star Wars cartoon their adventures lead them to the boring and uneventful side of Tatooine. Chocolate cake formations are known to inhabit the area; and I think those Jawas are dealing drugs. This scene got very little screen time due to the bad economy. :(

Anyways, so I had this idea for a topic, and I hope its received well. I really enjoy other cultures and learning about other societies in varying parts of the world, and other cultures offer a lot artistically, so how about this week we make some art that represents either a single aspect or several of any particular culture. This can be a culture from across the globe, or you could even do subcultures within our own country. Anyways, hope you guys can have fun with this one! The Field of 10,000 Lollipops

Whoops, late again? I had a tough time picking my favorite show from when I was a kid, so here's a bit of a crossover winner...sort of. When I was ten I went through a huge egyptology phase, hence my being obsessed with one, Mummies Alive, and two, Digimon because Kari and Gatomon were my heroes. So, obviously we have Gatomon and Patomon playing dress up....as mummies. It totally counts. Anyway, my list of favorites goes on and on after that so I'll just stop the rambling here.

What can I say? I was strange little girl. Still am too!

Next was Arthur. It was so funny. D.W. was a riot.
Then I watched pokemon, I thought mew and ninetails were the best. But ninetails was almost never in any episodes, whereas mew had that whole movie. I got a free ancient mew card. It was awesome.
Kim Possible was next. Once I got cable in middle school I set my watch to go off at 3:30 when it came on. Kim Possible. So Good
Then I discovered Fairly OddParents. That show is so funny it has humor that is not only for kids.

Sorry this isn't beautiful and colored, but I am home for the summer and I don't currently have photoshop or painter. I will try and get my High School to hook me up though. Plus I have this awful summer job that pays a lot. I'm going to buy a Wacom Bamboo Fun with that money.

You'll notice this painting is really unpolished/unfinished. That's alright with me though, because since I am a slow painter, it would have taken me a long time. I think I got it to the point where someone would at least look at it for 2 seconds before losing interest.

Watched this every day when i was growing up. This whole thing actually started out with me just messing around with the different types of brushes in painter11. I ended up really liking the oil pastel brushes so that's what i did the whole thing in. I was going to add the count too but i really want to go to bed.

I just happen to be on a Pokemon fanart kick, and I just finished this image tonight so I was amused at how fitting the new topic was...is...bla. Admittedly TMNT was my favorite show as a child but I loved the Pokemon cartoon in my high school years. I was die hard, watch every episode. I cried when Ash almost died in 'The First Movie' and Pikachu tries to revive him. Yes, I am pathetic. All the three year olds surrounding me in the theater sent their best dirty looks toward my sad sobbing. Exactly, like that.

This kind of stuff happens to me all the time when i wake up. Except I usually eat rotten food in the morning with out realizing it. This one time, I ate a completely rotten peach but I was so tired, it didn't even register in my mind, i was like "this peach is kinda weird"... but i didn't realize why until i was throwing up for the rest of the next 24 hours.

Alright guys, so in an effort to actually post pictures on this thing, I dug up a drawing that I did for a friend, so here's the theme. Lame, I know, but I had fun playing with with it anyway. Come up with your own not so super hero with a weird and wacky not so super power.

Off With A Bang!

Literally. So you all know there's been a little talk about maybe doing an art blog with everyone from class right? No, well get with the program then. I thought it would be really fun to do this, so once everyone is invited as an author of the blog jump right on in on the opening theme. As the title suggests, this entries theme is something explosive. You can be as literal or as out there as you like. It doesn't really matter what you do, just make it awesome.

Eventually I think we should set up an order of who suggests the subject each month/week/however often we decide to do this. Maybe we should have certain criteria for entries or something, such as using different media, techniques, or design tools. Anyway, have fun everyone!
